The Boathouse is now open for the 2025 season.
Nestled along the tranquil shores of Loch a’ Choire, The Boathouse Restaurant at Kingairloch Estate offers an unforgettable dining experience where breathtaking coastal views meet the finest estate-to-table cuisine. Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, showcasing the best of our estate’s produce—including venison, beef, and lamb—alongside seasonal ingredients from our Walled Garden incorporated whenever possible. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted to celebrate the natural flavours of the Scottish Highlands, while supporting local suppliers and environmentally responsible practices.
This season we are delighted to welcome Chef Owen and his partner Ella, who alongside our dedicated restaurant manager Tracey, bring fresh inspiration and warm hospitality to The Boathouse. We love our furry friends, but please note that dogs are no longer permitted inside the restaurant. Thank you for your understanding.
Whether you’re joining us for a leisurely lunch or a memorable evening meal, expect outstanding flavours, a relaxed atmosphere, and a stunning waterfront setting!

A wonderful Christmas Getaway: This was our 4th visit to Kingairloch but our first in the Old School.
We arrived two adults two dogs on Christmas Eve for a weeks stay. Everything was spotless and nice and warm.
Very comfortable settees and bed. Fluffy pillows and massive soft towels. Everything you need and like all the cottages great views.
We did some walks around the estate. Twice we saw Otters on the approach road where the wall is.
Lots of magnificent stags some even right next to the cottage. Visited every night by a Pine Martin and one night he brought a friend.
Golden eagles in the bay. A big thank you Bob and Kevin who helped me out when our car got stuck.
